In Group-2 of Super-12 of T20 World Cup 2022, India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets in a thrilling match on Sunday. Team India won the toss and decided to bowl at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. Pakistan scored 159 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. India achieved the target of 160 on the last ball of the 20th over. For Pakistan, Shan Masood scored an unbeaten 52 and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 51 runs. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 for India.

Team India did not start well. In the second over, Naseem Shah sent KL Rahul to the pavilion. The very next over Rohit Sharma got out. Suryakumar Yadav got out in the sixth over. 31 runs were scored in the powerplay and 3 wickets fell. After this, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya took over the team with a century partnership.
