National Education Policy 2020: The Mutual Recognition of Educational Qualifications (MRQs) between India and the UK aims to increase educational cooperation and promote the transfer of students between India and the UK. A request from the UK to recognize his one-year Masters program was considered.

India-UK pact on educational courses: Memorandum of understanding on educational courses signed between India and UK on April 25, 2022 has been approved. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved it on Wednesday. The National Education Policy 2020 envisages making education easier. The MoU on behalf of UK HEIs also facilitates the offering of joint courses between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

The Mutual Recognition of Educational Qualifications (MRQs) between India and the UK aims to increase educational cooperation and promote the transfer of students between India and the UK. A request from the UK to recognize his one-year Masters program was considered. It was decided to establish a joint task between the education ministers of the two countries during a meeting held in Delhi on 16 December 2020.

The first meeting in this regard was held on February 4, 2021 and after detailed deliberations and negotiations both sides agreed on the draft MoU. The purpose of the MoU is to facilitate mutual recognition of academic qualifications, duration of study, academic degrees or qualification documents and accreditation by the educational institutions of the two countries.
