
Dhaka – Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah Balen and Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol met the Nepali National Women’s Football Team.
Mayor Balen and Deputy Mayor Dangol met the national team and wished them good luck for the SAFF Women’s Championship when they went to Solti Hotel to meet with the international representatives for Indrajatra on Friday.
“He met me and wished me well in the SAFF Championship. He encouraged me,” said one of the players. Nepal defeated Bhutan 4-0 in the first match of the Women’s SAFF Championship which started on August 21. Nepal is scheduled to play against Sri Lanka on Monday.
Bhutan and Sri Lanka are in Group B along with Nepal. On the other hand, Group ‘A’ consists of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives, the former and sole winners of the tournament. The top two teams of the group will enter the semi-finals. The final match of the tournament will be held on October 3.
