
Roger Binny New BCCI President: Former all-rounder of the Indian cricket team, Roger Binny has become the 36th President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). At the board’s AGM on Tuesday, Binny was elected president. He will replace Sourav Ganguly. This has been decided in the Annual General Meeting of BCCI. The decision was taken at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) held on Tuesday. On the other hand, Jai Shah (Secretary), Ashish Shelar (Treasurer), Rajeev Shukla (Vice President) and Devjit Saikia (Joint Secretary) have also been elected unopposed to their posts. Apart from these, outgoing treasurer Arun Dhumal will be the new chairman of IPL.
IPL will be discussed
Arun Dhumal will chair the meeting of the newly constituted IPL Governing Council after the BCCI AGM on Tuesday. In this, the date of IPL auction will be decided and there will also be a discussion about the first women’s IPL, which the board wants to organize in March before the IPL.
Discussion on ICC chairman
In this meeting, the issue can be discussed whether BCCI should field a candidate for the post of ICC chairman or not. There is a lot of discussion in the political corridors about Sourav Ganguly and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directly sought PM Modi’s intervention in favor of Sourav Ganguly. But other names being discussed for the post include Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and former BCCI President N Srinivasan.
